Electrophysiology (EP) Lab
Covenant Heart Institute has two state-of-the-art electrophysiology (EP) labs located on the third floor of the Medical Center South Tower, just down the hall from the cardiac catheterization lab.

Studies and procedures dealing with the heart’s electrical system are performed in these labs. EP studies allow physicians to diagnose causes of abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias) and determine the appropriate treatment.

Treatment may include pacemakers, defibrillators, medications or ablations. Our EP Lab utilizes color mapping. This cutting-edge technology helps physicians analyze electrical signals in the heart and facilitate catheter placement for therapeutic ablation.

Covenant Heart Institute electrophysiology team is a leader in diagnosis, treatment, and research of cardiac arrhythmias. Electrophysiologists are cardiologists who have further specialized in the investigation and treatment of abnormal heart rhythms.
