Cardiac Catheterization Lab
The Covenant Heart & Vascular Institute (CHVI) was one of the first institutions in West Texas to open a catheterization (cath) lab—and we continue to be on the leading edge of cardiovascular technology. CHVI now has six state-of-the-art cath labs two of which have electrophysiology capabilities, which are equipped with advanced digital imaging, giving physicians the fastest and most accurate data.
Cardiac catheterization—also called angiogram—procedures help cardiologists diagnose and treat heart disease by providing imaging of heart function and blockages in the arteries of the heart. Cath lab procedures are used to evaluate patients for surgery and perform minimally invasive treatments.
